A narrow escape for a bus conductor in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, after gunmen opened fire on a moving passenger vehicle in broad daylight. Captured on a viral video, the brazen attack has triggered a massive police manhunt and raised serious concerns over law and order and public safety on the state’s highways.  

Kannauj Police have launched four specialised patrol teams to monitor accident-prone routes in Uttar Pradesh. Led by SP Vinod Kumar, the initiative deploys 20 personnel and new CCTV surveillance across critical corridors to curb rising road mishaps and strengthen district-wide road safety measures.
